Common forms of punishment like detention and suspension are outdated. While sometimes necessary, these types of punishment often do not prevent future misbehavior. Jesse will support the use of evidence-based policies aimed at changing our students’ negative behaviors and encouraging positive behaviors. Jesse will also advocate for the implementation of restorative practices and elimination of the use of School Resource Officers.
